You could screw after market gauges to the bottom lip of the dash to the right of the vent cable near the middle of the dash is where most people put them.

    Additional gauges location.

Sounds as if you need to find a gauge speedo repair shop. Red line gauges in California just finished mine for my AMX project, repaired the speedo and calibrated it, resoldered the pins and circuit board, tested the gauges. My gauges were out do to loose pins on the board. $495 shipped

    1969 hardtop with RM21 vin

Brewers is a good outfit I deal with them on 4 speed parts. The tag looks to be okay, its been painted around one or twice I'd say. But the dash and stamped numbers could be from a post car. Interesting, it's registered and not reported stolen so drive it, enjoy it and either cover the vin with...

    1969 hardtop with RM21 vin

It sounds as if the car was one of the three bronze colors offered in 69. The trunk light was part of a light package that would have included lighted ignition switch, trunk and glove box lights, map light and fender mounted turn signals

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

Its different with the engine running. Make sure the clutch is disengaging no lazy left foot and go from a synchronized gear like 1st or second that helps stop any movement in the trans. Cold thick gear oil makes it worse.

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

Could be the linkage needs adjusted. From neutral can you go to the left into the revers gate or do you have to move the shifter up and down a little to find it?
