The majority of the reproduction tachs were coming from Charger Specialties. They were just recently acquired by Mike Carter who also owns AMS Obsolete and Herb's. They are trying to put things in place so that they will be once again available. I know that are having to source some of the minor components to startup production again. But give Mike, Jeff or one of his guys a call as they will be good for the hobby. http://chargerspecialties.net/

I got mine from Dante's but it was the last one they had. Said it would not work with MSD system but the paper work say's it will. I saw them in classic industries. Yes they are probably from china. But what is not now day's. Or at least from Taiwan. The original ones are hard to find.

It is good for the hobby that Mike and his family were able to purchase the Charger Specialties business. It is a good fit for them and their current businesses and pieces will be actually assembled here in Georgia.

It is a good day when thing's are produced in America. Not over seas. We need to bring more job's back to this country. Start making our own products again. This mean's putting more people back to work and makes us less dependent on things coming from over sea's. That is why the hole world want's our country. We can be self sufficient once again. It is like this a teacher put to us in class one time. Had three boy's come forward. He said one of you is a farmer. One is the baker. Then one is a from a out side country. He handed a dollar bill to the baker. Hence the farmer sold him wheat to make his product. The farmer need a loaf of bread and gave the baker the dollar. Now this could go on and the dollar stayed in our country. Now the out side country boy had a product and the famer bought it form him. The dollar left to the other country and that boy did not buy any thing from our farmer or baker. That dollar never came home. Just like our job's. Nice to get product's cheaper from out side our country but are they as good as the product's made in the USA. How can we keep our planes and tanks also weapon's or our military going with product's made from over sea's. So love to see more thing's made here once again. :usflag:

Good to see you were able to source one and that they’re made here.

I think the stock tach on the dash looks clean and better than the large Flavo Flav Looking one that was mounted atop my steering column.

I mounted one on the dash in front of the steering wheel in my younger days. I took it off and welded up the holes and fixed that and now I am putting one in the dashboard Where it belongs.:thumbsup2:

I got a tach.
Can someone that has factory installed give me a clue about the wiring harness that is sold with them?
I don't see a hole in the firewall for a feed through in my 69 car.
Is there one on factory installed cars?
Where?
The wiring harness seems to have a grommet, I think
(I've got the 69 factory prints from the net and haven't found the tach on them yet either.)

Thank you.
Can I ask one more stupid question on the subject of retro fitting?
Really curiosity on my part.
My car has a small hole in the bottom of the clear plastic bezel.
I assume this would be for the optional clock stem?
Do other people's cars seem to have this whether a tach or clock was installed or not?

Thank you.
I shall attempt to fashion a clear plug out of Lexan.
I assume it has a shoulder like a body plug and is not flush.
Ya'll with the high option cars are most helpful on these things.
My car is a stripper.
