Sorry to see that! I just cringed when I saw the first pictures. I am just guessing here, but I have a new rear window and set it in the channel. I noticed that the glass did not lay down evenly all the way around. It would hit in one spot but then wouldn't contact again for another 12" or so. The gap was only 1/8", but it was a gap. I was thinking I may have to put in rubber shim strips along with the rubber blocks to ensure it hits evenly everywhere and avoid putting stress at one spot. I am no expert, but that is what I was thinking. Is there a procedure for laying in the rear window?

Sound's like tight quarter's like mine is. Not sure what a man is to do. So it has come to light that AMD will not replace the window after all. They will sell me another one. Now looking at a window from metro glass. I have a bad taste for what happened. So have a good glass man and will have him help me the next time. With all the after market metal that was installed on the car. The gaps probably aren't the same. Used the old one for test fit when doing the car and looked to be good and plenty of gap around the window. Well that is the problem with after market product's. But we are the guy's paying the price. :cursin:

I have a new roof skin and rear quarters as well as the filler panel. So everything around the rear window is aftermarket. I will be REALLY careful and recheck the gaps!

I will say WWheeler did a little filler back their to even it all up where the metal stacked on top of each other. Did not think it was too tight with the old window for pattern. Looked ok. The new glass was a little tight in the bottom corner's but still had gap. Their was a quarter inch gap all the way around. But got down some in those corners. The trim fit grate. If my old glass was not so bad I would have used it but who wants to put an messed up glass in a total restored car. Wish ya luck buddy. I cant move forward till I get a glass in their. Russ.

Say 69hemibeep. Man I handled that glass with kid glove's. I just don't make sense. Like I said before why did it sit in their for over that length of time then shatter. It is beyond me. So going to pay a glass man and see how it goes for him.
Russ I have a guy lined up to install my glass. He has a front glass ordered so when that comes in he is going to call me. Your bud Big Mo.

Well the Metro glass is not going to work either. The thing is too wide at bottom and the curves are not like the old glass. Man this is really getting to be a bummer. So still looking for a rear window to go into the runner. May just end up buying and older one that looks better than mine. If you can even find one. Had my glass guy out and we tried to shift it one way or another to make it fit in. No luck. Too much bow in the middle of the glass also. Where to find one that fit's is getting to be a challenge for sure. Don't see any one else reproducing these window's. Or to get one custom made. :( :BangHead:

Oh boy. I "fit" my new glass before painting but didn't pay that much attention. Maybe I should go back and look a little more closely. I still have the original and is scratched up. Maybe I should compare the two now. My glass came from ECS but not sure that makes any difference.

Yes this becoming a tire some deal. Too bad they don't make the replacement glass the same as the old one's. So now looking for a old one to replace it with that is better than the one that came out. Saw some where on the net one guy went through three different window's before getting one that was rite. Who is ECS and where do you find them. would like to talk to them other than that looking into custom made glass.

Yes it goes in just a little tight at bottom corners. But do have the rite amount gap. that is what get's me used it while building the car for measurement. It is just in such bad shape with every ting looing like new on the car. looking on E bay for a rear glass that is in better shape than this one.
