You may want to wait next time maybe a few day before putting the trim on, maybe all the tapping you did to get the trim on did it, I don’t know just throwing it out there, sorry about that Russ

Well dmartin the trim snapped rite on with no tapping. Just pushed it on with my fingers. It lined up so well. I used butyl also and wanted to put the trim on before it had time to set up. Just don't make sense. If you look at the picture it looks like it went from the middle at the bottom up. This is the new batch of window's they just got in. Maybe I got a bad one. LOL>.

Yes 1968 man those block's where put in. I will never know what went wrong. I have broken wind shields putting them in but never had one brake like this after it was in. LOL.

Thanks for the Thought ACME A12. Enough to make a man sick. It looked so good for half an hour. Then it happen. Have broken putting them in but never had one brake after installed. Now the clean up starts.

Thanks Ernie. Yes it is a set back and hard to move forward till this problem is resolved. Waiting on the replacement glass. Their is another out let for these window's. Did not like the fit in the lower corner's. The trim fit good but their was a lager gap between trim and the glass. Makes me wonder why. It was all fitted with the original rear window and did not have that gap with it.

You may have to twist the trim a little to get the gaps right, I wonder it the bottom corners under the glass was not deep enough and when you put the trim on it put to much pressure on the glass and there fore broke, just a though

I've done some glass work and never heard anything like this.
If that glass wasn't under stress, it's just bizarre.
But glass work is tricky.
I had to put the front glass in a 67 three times.
First time it leaked around the rubber.
The second time we had it in and I told my helper to bump it to help it set.
Yep, had it in and he hit it one to many times.
So I bought an AMD which seemed thicker than the Chinese one that we broke.
The 3rd time, I went around and filled the channel with non setting after we had it in before putting on the trim.
No leaks.

Yes that is what I did once it was in place. filled all the gaps with Urethane 3M. Figured I was doing a good job. So now the clean up is a lot of work. Just about got it all cleaned up. Ordered new revile clip's and Butyl. Just waiting on the new window. Going to have a friend put it in this time he is a glass installer. Rather pay him than have to go through this again. Their is a lot more to do to the car and want to move on.

I agree with 68 man. Russ what you have done so far that piece of board is nothing. Just don't get ahead of yourself and cut it down to find out later that was a mistake. I know you will beat this as you have all the others you have faced. Your bud Big Mo.

Say 69hemibeep. Man I handled that glass with kid glove's. I just don't make sense. Like I said before why did it sit in their for over that length of time then shatter. It is beyond me. So going to pay a glass man and see how it goes for him.
