I am building an RV 440 for my 69 Roadrunner. It will be a mild street build with about 10.5 comp, 509 cam, 906 heads. Because of starter and power steering header clearance I am thinking of using my stock HP exhaust manifolds. Thoughts and suggestions please. Thanks
Quickbird used Stainless Steel Brakes and someone else said Leed Brakes. Both kits no spindle change needed for the 10 or 11 inch drums. I think the mounting bracket goes on the spindle where the back plate for the shoes went.
All sets between $800 and $1200.
OK, I have heard if you want change to front disc brakes on a 69 Roadrunner with 11 inch drums all the kits require you to change the spindles. What is the truth? Are there kits that do not require a spindle change? Thanks
I have a 383 now. It runs good but not that good. A buddy put a motor home 440 in a Sport Satellite and it gets up and goes. I understand I will have to use a few parts from my 383 like the pan, pick up, windage tray, motor mounts and I think my timing cover. The crank is not drilled for a 4...
Well I picked it up yesterday. It's a 76 with low miles and also came with an extra steel crank and a set of LY rods. Going to get it on my stand and tear into it a bit today. I would have to tear it apart to have the crank snout machined for a 4 speed. That's why he threw in the steel crank...
I have a chance to buy a 440 RV engine cheap. It is a 76 has good compression and oil pressure. Cast crank but comes with an extra steel crank. Are these blocks the same as the HP blocks. I plan to use it in for street driving only. Most of my HP parts from my 383 should swap right over. What if...
I got a whole new system from Mancini Racing and it's fine. Go back a bit right here on Electrical and Ignition and look at my post labeled "New Orange Ignition Boxes". You may need to modify it a bit.
I had that problem on my truck. The 12V feeding the coil was shorting to the firewall. Mine spewed oil everywhere. Wow two defective coils in a row. The MSD is a much better coil but I would still check the 12V going to the + side. Maybe the VR is killing them.
