That same consignment dealer also has this one for sale. It has the vitamin c orange that I am considering for my car. https://www.specialtysales.com/vehicles/1970-plymouth-road-runner-13191
While I am waiting for the body and paint I am getting the running gear ready for install. This will be my first attempt at sliding every thing under the car and I am not sure if should attach the transmission cross member to the transmission or wait until after every thing is in place.
got some new bumpers from AMD and they sure look nice and shiny. I tried a test fit of the rear tail lights and both sides just don't look right. I need the take it to the body shop and have it mounted to the car. If the bumper is tweaked I only have so much time to return. I suspect the whole...
Sorry Russ but can't wait a couple of days. My wife says I have no patience but I tell her I have a lot cause I never use any. Got the wiper knob off with the use of some vice grips, only way my old hands could hold it. Didn't mar it much. For the light switch it took a little research and...
Since I have an old instrument cluster that hasn't been butchered I can change the whole piece or just change the fascia/bezel. Now the next problem, I can't remove the light switch and wiper knobs. Any tricks? I removed the set screw from the wiper knob still won't budge.
Built a jig to hold the dash frame yesterday and today I have it stripped. So now more decisions to make.Do I replace the instrument cluster or reinstall the after market radio? I bought the car 26 years ago and it had a non stock 8 track player and I replaced it with a cassette. My E body is an...
Hey Russ there is no metal available for the areas that need repair on my car. Fortunately the shop sees no problem with fabricating and patching the bad areas and they will be doing a complete paint job. Still looking for more opinions on paint color.
Well car is going to a shop for metal/rust repair and body and paint. I will now need to make a decision on what color. This is never going to be a high dollar car and while I like the bronze it doesn't jump like the high impact colors do. I saw a 72 road runner in vitamin C years ago and I...
So with the car mostly stripped to a shell it looks pretty solid except the upper cowl and A pillars. It does have normal surface rust on the inner cowl and the inner roof. Any recommendations on prep and coating, maybe por 15 or something simular.
Pulled the pedal assembly from the fire wall today. While cleaning I realized the clutch pedal needle bearings are not caged and of course they proceed to start falling out, all 54 of them. Ordered a new set from Brewers and they claim the bearings should have a cage. So how do I pull the races...
Very little rust anywhere else on the car, all floors and trunk pans are solid. the rear window channel has some pitting but won't know how bad until I can get the window out. The previous owner must have had an issue at the front window and had it totally filled with some kind or dum dum body...
Well I think I am at the cross roads of a Mopar resto. Started out to repalce motor, clean and paint engine compartment and fix battery tray area. I planned to have a dustless blast job to remove paint and undercoat from the rad support to the firewall. Everything is good until I pull the...
Fresh on the grill 5 gallons of Evaporust! For the last 2 weeks our weather is low 40s at night and high 50s to low 60s during the day and it's really slowed down the parts cleaning and painting. So set up my grill to use hot water to heat a 5 gallon Homer bucket filled with Evaporust and it's...
Quikbird, it did fold almost like a crumple zone. I think the rubber pad took the impact and rolled the panel so I might try to pull from the pad mounting point. Don't have a stud welder but may try to weld something on the edge of the fender that is covered by the bumper and not seen to pull on.
