no all b and rb heads are the same only casting numbers will tell you what you have . look at 440 source web site to tell what you have or want

i believe the test in the factory service manual would tell what the problem is. the test will tell you to ground the wire at the sending unit to ground if the gage goes to full the gage is good . don't take my word read the service manual.
