383 motor main bearing caps.

Just wanted to know if anyone has tried the Milodon bearing cap swap. Thinking that with these old motors and my motor guy telling me the motor is trash due to lose main bearing caps. Trying to save the 383 or 440 motors. I know that there are not many machine shops left that do this kind of work. That is if the motor does not need the cylinder walls to be bored out over30. Thought someone might have been down this road also.
