TH727 fluid leak via overflow drain

Hi, Has anyone experienced the transmission fluid purge itself via the pump housing overfill hole?? My 1977 "TCI" Street Fighter tranny ONLY purges itself upon A COLD start after the car is inoperative for a while. Once the engine warms up, it does not leak at all. Not even after turning...

    Hood Hinge rivet replaced

DONE DEAL! I think the hardest was finding a vendor that would have the solid rivet and that would NOT want to sell you 50-100 of them. We are lucky to have a "hole in the wall" hardware store in Ventura that carries just about every item one can not find anywhere else. He had the rivet, NOT...

    Hood Hinge rivet replaced

EXACTLY- The ones I have are working perfect with the exception of the ONE solid rivet missing. I can purchase new ones, after market, which may or may not be as good as the original ones. The price is not bad for new ones but I feel it would be throwing money away ..........all due to one...

    TF 727 seals replaced

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YahoRGSahXQ Here is a YOUTUBE five minute video of the work I just finished on my 1969 RR. The "TCI" tranny and "T/C" ONLY had 1100 miles on it when the torque converter started to leak at the welds. TCI was honorable enough to replace the T/C even though it...

    Motor identification

You are 100% CORRECT. I need to pay MORE attention to detail....................LOL Can you tell me what the STAMP NUMBERS by the starter reveal. I'm pretty sure it is suppose to be the date, hence, stamped and not a casting number. I figure the " A " stood for day shift...

Sounds GOOD to me, BUT both the D and the N casted in the block. I thought the stamped number by the starter was suppose to be the date the motor was put together. Thanks for the input.............. LG, Mike

    Motor will NOT turn over

I looked at that. I tighten them down but NOT all the way until I had all of them in. I looked up and could not really see the bolts but there seemed to be a lot of room between the bolts and bell-housing for them to catch onto. I guess I should try and investigate that further. This was one...

    Motor will NOT turn over

HELP, I'm working on a 1969 RR with a 400CID motor (with less than 5,000 miles on it ) hooked up to a "TCI" TF 727 street-fighter with 1,000 miles on it and a NEW "TCI" torque converter. The first one was DEFECTIVE........... Well, the transmission re-install was going fine UNTIL I heard...

    383CID motor rotation
