I wonder if he were to sell the registry portion of his business to, say, Marti Reports, and keep the pocket book portion, if that would be a good move for him?

Might be a prudent step towards streamlining things, business wise, a bit. Although, unlike 20-30 years ago, lots of the numbers/prodution info is currently available from many other dedicated people/sources these days that the Marti report may seem redundant. Then again, from an official organized convenience standpoint, it could be beneficial to the Mopar community.

Why even bother with that guy? Who needs to put up with that in their life?

I agree, believe me, I fought sending off for his written "blessing" for years. But after accumulating more and more documentation on my car, and since the MOPAR hobby really doesn't have much to offer in regards to this sort of thing (like PHS, Marti, etc) I felt it was probably a good idea to apply for his registry letter. If nothing more than to have one more piece of paper to add to my small pile. It's only $18 bucks, I figured what the hell..... It's been about 5 weeks.... Hopefully this time next year I'll have it!
