I would like to go to 15 inch wheels on the back of my 69. In doing this a would like to max out the size of wheel and tire with out lifting the car to much. Any suggestion on sizes?
Thanks in advance.
The Axxmann (yes I play guitar too).

no sir. I went 15x7 up front with 235 60's no rubbing anywhere. I did replace front/rear shocks (rears are Monroe load leveling).

the max width on the rear wheels seems to be in the 10 inch range without doing some fender rolling or spring relocation. average backspace is 4.5 inches

Hey axxmann Had the same thought as you notice you can't even get a 12 inch wood ruler to fit into the rear tub area. After futher research Mini tubs where the answer but a lot of work cut the back seat down move trunk hinge's move rear springs move body frame rail's and on and on. Well that is what I found out or like Quick bird said roll the finder's . We did this in the 60's and 70's with a base ball bat on a Duster that we had a 440 in and wanted 12" tires so we could hook up better. Well wish you luck and I play Guitar also it is a peavey with an 800 Watt crate amp with wawa pedal sometimes keep on rocking.

Thanks much...don't think I want to go that far...LOL on my original I had L-50s with 10 x 15 wheels and I had to lift the car to far by today's standards...Glad to find another picker out there!!! if you get time go to www.axxmann.com...I also am wrapping up my second cd "No Fancy Cover" as we speak.

Thanks again...
