This was in the local Trader paper for sale along side a 1966 426 Hemi. I called right away and bought the Dana. Then by the time I went to get it today the Hemi was already gone! Good thing cause I was tempted! Just didn't have the money, lol

I did get this for $800. 3:54 gears, and feels tight and unmolested. :worship:

[ if all goes well Friday, that might just get put on hold for a while longer. That's OK, she's worth it!
So you're going to go for it Dave???
going to go look at it tomorrow, and if it looks as good in person as it does in the pics, it'll be in my garage tomorrow night.

The Hemi was $12,000 OBO, I didn't pry into asking what he get for it, but he did say he took a little less. I figure $10,000 or so. Its funny though, a guy from Florida bought it, and it was in Illinois. Just goes to show how hooked up we are now with internet ect.. (This was a local paper and it was not posted on the net) I was hoping to get there to see it myself, but the guy just left when I arrived. :brickwall:

Thanks... Picking up a Dana for it tomorrow, so it will be 68 440, 833 4 Speed with Dana 60. I am hoping to have the floor finished, and the passenger quarter on by the end of the week end. If I don't pussy out because of the heat anyway! lol

Well, I hit a small snag, the Quarter/Trunk Extensions do not fit the AMD trunk floor right. The curves are way off so I am ordering a couple more from AMD. This will set me back some. I guess I have other work I can do on the car. If anyone plans to but 1/4 Ext. do not buy the non-painted cheapo's on ebay!

I will kick them down to a later project. They will not fit the factory floor pans either. AMD hit the nail on the head with their panels. The cheapo extensions are listed as the cheapest on ebay. I would not recomend them unless ou want to spend a couple days making them work. The flat flange where they meet the floor it not curved like the factory and leaves a 1/4" gap in between them. You could bend them and make them work, but if you want a nice look I wouldn't try it. They would make a good patch panel though if your only replacing the drop off area. I bought floor pans from the same place and they suck too. There is junk metal out there that can be bought cheaper. I normally don;t fall for that, but they had great feedback. :brickwall:

Be sure to check the width. '66 is different than 68-70.

If you can cut it right below where the drop rolls over the edge down beside the quarter where it is not seen they would work. However it is more work to cut them and weld them in than to just use the whole thing and install it like the factory did. May try to use them on the GTX, I also have a 2 piece floor I didn't like enough to use on the Road Runner. I think its a cheapo too, maybe they will match up. lol

Dave stay away from those cheap replacement parts. I just about gave away all that cheap stuff for the Mod Top and bought AMD which fit extremely well, almost no fitting, I just chuckd em at the car from across the room and they fell right in place. Totally worth the price.

I checked it before I drove to get it and once again when I picked it up, its the same as my 1969.

Its weird that you mentioned they are different, I have personally interchanged 1969 B-Body 8 3/4" rears into a 1964 Polara, a 1965 Belvedere, and also one into a 1966 Coronet. What exactly is different because they bolted right in, and I noticed no differences?

I made a little progress on the 440 engine. I got side tracked on a quick money making deal with another car but plan to jump back on the RR now! :acme:

I finally got both quarters done on my car last night. It was pushed in a corner for a month or more. Bought a 1966 Ford to re-sell, and also had some other loose projects to attend to. I did get in some aluminum pulleys and radiator today. So far I am not going back stock! lol Doubt it will be B-5 Blue now either. The car is kind of going its own direction.

I think the sheet metal valve covers and aluminum heads kind of gave that one away... :basketcase:

Looks good.
