Stainless steel trim on post

Just to ask did all the post car's post come with the stainless steel trim. Or where some just painted. Mine did not come with that piece of trim. Well did not know if that was special ordered or not. Russ.

Would have rather had a scolding than spend all that time to search. Thanks guys for the answer. Now wont buy the trim. I do like the post painted. But if needed would have gotten them.

I agree Plybeep68. Think that trying so hard to make the paint shine on them will just go with the painted look.

Yep the décor package includes the stainless steel B-pillar exterior trim. I have that on my Road Runner and all I had to do was run it up and down on my bench buffer and it looks brand new. I like the look of the stainless steel trim, but then again the painted to match the rest of the car also looks just fine... depends on what floats your boat!!

Yes sir I agree with you jww69. Mine does not have it. I like birds with and without it.

A87 include anything else that you know? All of this made me ho look at my build sheet to see if it had A87 on it, yep it does. I often wondered why some had it and some did not.

Thank you!! All of which I have. H2X is my car. I knew there was a road runner decor group and did think it was an interior upgrade but did not know of the stainless pillar trim.

Looking at my build sheet reminded me about the wheels on the car too. My uncle bought the car new and no one remembered it having the road wheels that it was coded for. It has them now though, post restoration (pun intended as it’s an RM21 car, and this is the thread topic lol). We can only assume that the dealer may have swapped them out as maybe another customer wanted the road wheels on a different car on the lot, so they did what they could to close the deal. Either that or my uncle was offered some beer money to swap them, as he was known to enjoy a beer! Lol

I do like the way the trim looks. My vote is for!

seperate based on my car. It’s an A87 car but never had rocker trim. wide rocker panel trim is usually a separate code on the fender tag if memory serves from some of my other cars. I think M27 or M21 might be the codes. Off the top of my head anyway. If you need I could always look them up

I found a piece of plastic some one had not removed from my rocker so that means it had the rocker trim on it at one time or another. I decided not to put it on the car because that is a rust maker and rocker destroyer. Can't clean behind them with all the stuff that build up in their. Just to say. I really like them but have seen this on other cars with that type of rocker trim. Yes they had rusted area's behind them.

They do make the car look sharp. Even the wheel trim is out standing when on. My buddy put some on his Olds 88. They looked grate. Don't get me wrong I like it. But their should have been a way to put them on so trash would not get behind them. The buddy of mine is getting a set to go on to the old's they have 3M type tape to stick them on no drilling or space behind them. Gees like that car buddy.
