Speedometer question

my speedometer was working (the only thing working on my dash). i just refurbished my entire instrument cluster and everything is working great.......except now the speedometer doesn't work? it sems im plugging it in as far as it will go, feels like a snug fit. what did i do wrong???

check the other end at the tranny. this cable is a little iffy on being long enough and seating one end real well pulls out the other. Dont ask how many times I was under the car fiddling with it till i finally got it right

Did you spin the cable to make sure it went into the slot on the speedo input. That could be the problem also.

spin the cable from where......the bottom side that attaches to the transmision?

That is what I did before hooking the cable up to the trannie. Taped it up till I got it down to the transmission. So, it would not slip out.
