1970 383 A727 and my speedo is eratic at all speeds. Pulled the dash cluster, replaced the speedo cable, removed the cable gear from trans and no sign of damage to 32 teeth gear.

Any ideas? Thanks

Take the cable out and lube it with some powered graphite. Sounds like it is binding up inside the protective sleeve. Do you see and damage or kinks in the sleeve?
