Yes it is done it is done. Not with out some problem's. When putting the second coat of clear on the roof my air hose got hung up and when pulling it some clear sloshed out of the hole in the top lid. I said what is that coming form thought it might be water. NO it was clear dripping down on the sail panel and quarte. Well just have to wet sand it out and cut and buff the car any way. Just another thing to have to do. So here are the pic's it did turn out rather nice no tiger stripes. IMG_0101 (1).JPG IMG_0102 (1).JPG IMG_0103.JPG IMG_0104.JPG IMG_0105.JPG

Yes me too. You can't see it to good but the specks in the paint are royal blue metal flake. I just lightly dusted it to make it pop. Did not want to go to far with it. Still a lot of work to do but at least this parts is done. Got to do a little wet sanding where the darn paint gun leaked some clear but not too bad. It was my fault in a hurry and working alone. Thanks for the comment buddy. :kartman:Now I can have a beer and celebrate!!!!!!!

When buying it did not look like a lot of work boy was I wrong. Thanks for this site and all the info from the bird community out their. Next is to get into a roller while painting doors hood trunk lid and fenders. Hope all the pic's I have posted will help the other people who want to restore a Runner. :steering:

Thanks Quickbird. Even orange peal and some fish eye. But thinking it will buff out good. If the paint cup had not spilled clear would have been happier. But will get rid of it when sanding and buffing. It dose make a man feel good to get some paint on the car. One step closer. But know it is a lot of work ahead of me.

in my head I always thought it was gonna be a red car..? but the blue definitely pops!
Yes RKNRLR. After working on removing rust and seeing nothing but red I decided to go with the b5 blue. Still have to cut and buff it have some fish eye but very small. Thinking it will sand out. Thank you for the comment. You have to see it in person to see the micro flake I added in a color blender before clearing it.

Just to say started working on the fender's yesterday. Cleaning them up getting them ready for paint then moving on to hood and trunk lid. Will be so glad the day I can get in the car and crank it up. Then drive it down the road. :steering:
