1969 road runner. What is the best offset on the rear wheels to fit the biggest tire without clearance issues and no rolling or cutting at all, and no moving or trimming the leaf springs. I am thinking a 295 65. 15 , Should I use a 4.25. 4.5. Or 5 inch backspace? Pics appreciated.. also what size radial tire looks good on the front...I assume a 6 x15inch wheel would be a good choice.
Thanks, Scott

I have 235s on 15x7s on the front. 2756015 on the back. I had 15x8 Magnums on the rear, not sure what the offset was. I switched to Cragars with way more offset. I'll have to shovel my way to the garage to measure the wheels.

:yeathat: 3.5 BS front,4.5 BS rear. You'll have no issues with that.

I would like to try a 5 or 5.5 backspace, but I better play it safe and get 4.5 backspace on the rear with an 8 inch wheel. I can prob do a 6 or 7 inch on the front not sure what tire size for the front that i will get yet, I don't want the diameter to look too small.

Rawone,

I have 295/55/15's on the rear. MT ET Streets. I think they are a great rear tire for both looks and performance. 295's fit nicely up in there.

Also received new Glove box liner, All new locks, gaskets and keys, fuel pump, battery tray and braces. Waiting on Inline stainless Fuel line and return line and new hardware. New Lug nuts and stems came in 2 weeks ago. Trans is getting freshened and adding a shift kit and kevlar bands..will use the 727 before I upgrade to the 4 or 5 speed. Probrubly not use the stock convertor that came with the car, looking at about a 2800-3000 stall since it is a street car/cruise night car.
