I am starting to install a roll bar in my 69 rr. My problem is just where the rear bars connect to the car. Anybody out there have installed one and can give me a hint? A picture or two would really help also. Many thanks in advance.

George, did those bars come with your package, or are they extra and a different part number. also how far into the trunk do the rear bars extend?

George, I can't thank you enough for your pictures and advice on my roll bar. I've been poring over the rule book but it is just so helpful to see how someone else did it and more importantly passed tech with it. Thanks for taking the time to take all those photos to help. They will be incredibly helpful going forward.

On a completely separate question, did they make you put a panel in between the trunk and passenger compartment since the fuel cell is in the trunk? :worship::worship::worship:

best I can come up with for choices are: bend the bar to go under the armrest making sure still goes through shoulder to elbow position, go over armrest and down like the seatsaver bars for the top hoop, raise the attachment point in front, take off the armrests and do without. open for new opinions

Currently waiting on a couple parts from ballistic fab. They make a connector I want to use on the crossbar so it can be removed and thus use back seat around town at cruises etc but can be put in easily for racing. Am leaning toward removing arm rest and just keep the bases. Then do something this winter when I get to the upholstery.

progress report on roll bar. have everything either installed or tacked up and ready for finish welds. looks like I am going to take the arm rest pad of until a later time when I will redo the door cards and build in clearance for the front down bars. only thing left is to add the swing outs for the front bars. I know ther are some folks who just shimmy over the bar but I,m too old and fat for that one. :wink-new: anyway here are the latest set of pics.
