How in Heck to reinstall Switch panel with dimmer switch attached in a 69 RR with Dimmer seems too big to fit through space

I always have to do it from the backside of the dash panel. Install plate, I tape the two screws into dimmer holes, push dimmer into place and screw in. It’s very tight quarters but have patience. I finally got better after the 5th or 6th removal

Yeah, the dash pad is a seriously pain to work through. On mine it seemed to need the upper left corner tucked in. All the switches right of steering column can be mounted to panel before going on dash. All switches left of column had to be installed from back side to panel under the dash.

Any tips on installing left switches when panel is installed. I have a small pencil type magnet that will hold screws.

I used small pieces of masking tape to tape backside mounting screw in place while inserting each switch from underneath backside. A small magnetic screwdriver to screw the in. I did a lot of feel by hand. I also held dimmer in place from front by grabbing thumb wheel. The more you can remove harnesses and ductwork underneath dash, the more room you’ll have. Stubby Philips or 3-4” screwdriver.
