production numbers explaination

If the add says this is 1 of 435 cars made that year does that mean exact duplicate of that cars options or just the major components like engine, trans, body style etc??

It veries with who writes the ad. Take for instance 69 hemi road runner, there were 421 2dr hardtops built for the USA, 234 4 spds 187 autos plus 14 Canadian, 2dr coupes 840, 449 4sp, 391 autos. I think 4 convertibles. Pick a number

Most of the time it relates to the engine, body style, and trans. Most other options were not tracked like these, and as such it’s very difficult to pinpoint how many cars exactly like yours were made. It being a Hemi, not many!
