I was at a recent show and a guy was selling a 70 RR, B5 blue, auto in better shape than mine for $22k. Non a/g 383 car w/B7 Blue buckets...which I think is crazy low. But another thread I saw (think it was here) where a guy was offered $25k for a 69 RR vert auto, and people were chiming in that it was an accurate offer.

Could this be, or am I crazy out of touch with recent values?

hard to say from just that info. could be the owner just needs to sell it, have no idea if is the original engine and trans, or even if original color. any of those things could lower the price a little.

I think prices have kind of flat-lined (or stabilized if you prefer) recently. I think several people (including yourself) advised that $25K for RR drop-top was a tad on the low side.

But there are definitely deals to be had right now. I was nosing around on carsonline yesterday and found a '69 Hemi GTX 'vert w/727 for $95K. Seems kinda low for a 1 of 6 Hemi-car. Also found a '68 Hemi GTX hardtop for $82K. I saw a really nicely restored A12 RR go for just over $60K recently - which I thought was a steal.

It is a driver quality restored car in original B5, fender tag, original trans, nom engine. car has quarters done, everything else was good prior to resto. He's not even advertised it online...had a piece of paper in window w/price...thinking of hitting him at $18k and moving it along.

Yes I agree...and thoughts/opinions are like A-Holes anyway right?...it's funny because it seems that if you're a die-hard B-Body guy, the common theme is they are worth more than an E-body (excluding the 72-74's in both genre, and excluding the hemi cars or AAR/TA's)...but the E-Body folks think the 70 Cuda/ 70-71 Chally are def worth more than a 68-70 RR/S.Bee.

I see prices slowly recouping the losses they took in the economic turn down. If it is cheap there is a reason, or an uneducated or desperate seller. The last two make for good buys

I am seeing more and more that people are sick of dealing with all the online idiots and prefer to sell their car to a buyer from a show or swap meet and they are willing to take a little bit of a hit to accomplish that. 22K is a good price, I would need to see pics of it before I can be held accountable for that statement though. The convert in question has a lot of custom stuff done and that really hurts value.

I thought 70 was a more popular year than 69... If 22k is a good price, I'm taking a bath w my 69

There has never been a wider gap between similarly equipped cars. You could have two RM27 cars side by side and one could be 75K and the other 35K. It always comes down to the originality of the drive line, paperwork and the options the cars came with.

You were looking at a clone. "Updated from a 440 high performance engine by the original owner in 1985 at chrysler with year correct 426 hemi engine coded 2468330!"

Here's the real asking price on a legit 69 Hemi GTX vert. http://www.cars-on-line.com/80185.html

Indeed I was... Missed that as I was skimming ads... Saw another one ('68 IIRC) too for not much more money...but can't find it now...

I wouldn't worry. Cars prices vary widely due to a bunch of different things. But if you put similar 70 Roadrunner next to a similar 69, I think the 69 will go for more.

This makes two times I have agreed with you
