Good stuff, Richard. Thanks for the info.If you look real close at the nuts, you will possibly see a "R" stamped into the flats on the opposite side of the red plastic insert. Typically you will see on the passenger side tie rod sleeve, the nuts with the red insert and on the driver side sleeve clamp nuts a tan or off white insert. On those, you will see "T" stamped into the nut. Not uncommon to find on an original untouched car. Found on all of the different body styles and across a number of years as well.
All 4 of my original adjusting sleeve nuts had the off white nylon locking pellet and a stamped T on the opposing flat. No red pellet, or stamped R’s. The bolt heads are marked with an A and 3 hash marks. ‘69 LA plant build....Jim
