So Ive got another issue now.... My brake lights are on constantly and Ive got no marker lights in the rear.

Also, my horn is on constantly too. Even when I pulled the switch in the wheel, its still on. I finally pulled the wiring on the horn relay to shut it off.

Im thinking that these problems may be related, possibly in the column somewhere.

What do I look at first? And how the hell can an idiot such as myself figure it out?

Well, I seemed to figure out a few things earlier. Things aren't quite correct, but it'll work for now.

Was going to say for you to check for chaffed wires thare may be grounding in the steering column. Sounds like you found the problem.

Well, the brake pedal isnt quite adjusted correctly. The pedal sticks out farther as apparently I have the wrong rod in the master cylinder. It works, it's just not "right." As such, the switch is out of adjustment. I need to shim it to be "fixed", but I basically slid things over a bit on the pedal so the pedal wouldn't engage the switch so quickly. Its not fixed properly, but it should be good enough for now. I'll just keep my eyes on it for awhile.

The horn issue is still there. I'll have to tear into the column again, and for now I'll let it go until I get another day off. But, yeah, Im sure something is making contact in there.

The marker lights was a simple ground issue. Fresh paint! I just had to sand the light bezel pretty damn good and it finally found ground.

Ok....what the heck???

I edited my title cause I've now developed another issue..... earlier tonight I discovered my reverse lights are always on now. I don't have the switch installed in the tranny , so that can't be it. My earlier fixes didn't cause this, or at least not right away.

So now what??

Can I just pull the bulbs for now, or will that royally screw something up??

I seriously have no freaking idea. The only thing I did was to pull the rear harness together and lay it out in the looms in the trunk. Maybe I have a bare wire somewhere??

I'll just pull the bulbs for now then.

Thanks!

hi, make sure you test the trans reverse switch to make sure the plunger ball is not stuck in the plastic sleeve. ron

Thanks for the tips. I quickly checked the wires earlier and cant find any obvious issues. For now, I just pulled the bulbs.
