Don't worry 69hemibeep, we will change all the rear panels. The sand blasting will allow to see all the damages and what we really need to change (trunk floor, outter wheel housing, rear cross member...).
Thank you MMissile, we hope it will :)

Then we remove the heater too, looks like to be in a good shape even if the motor is a little rusty...

Yesterday we removed the last harness wiring that we left in the engine compartment so now it's clear around the engine

Alright! Coming down to the core. Take a good look under window frames to see if any rust there as well while you are disassembling it this far. It's great you have help for this. Makes all of it easier.
Ps. Soda blaster uses baking soda instead of sand and is easier on the sheet metal than sand. Just washes away with water so is biodegradable. Keep the pics coming!

Could you please help me for decoding the numbers of the engine? (On the manual service book from 1969 Plymouth I'm not sure to understand everything of the explication...)
Here's the pic from the left side of the engine

Sure looks like welds on the quarters were not cleaned up properly, I am amazed that you got the back window out in one piece. Good job! How did the front one go? How is the availability of body parts over there? Looks like you are making great progress. Keep the pics coming.

Here you go

2468130 = 383 1959-71 'B'

Casting Date is Dec 12th 1967, which means the block was cast back in late 67' but not assembled for your car until later probably 1968, but I am no expert.

440 motors are RB FYI

Absolutely Quikbird that is the least you could say! At some poibnts they have been weld with mastic!!!!!!!! this is completely awful!
Pulling apart the windshield and the back window was the most critical point of the disassembling process! And hopefully they both ended up well! thanks by the way! :)

And thanks for the decoding bigmanjbmopar! Correct me if I'm wrong, but, if I get it, what you say is that the block were built in 67' then stored for a year or so, and then finally assembly for the car in late 68-69?

Hey!
It's been a while since we don't post any news or any pics of the car. We got it back from the blast sanding and got some little surprises on both doors. And the trunk door is in a pretty bad shape too. But we probably could be able to handle it, at least we hope so ^^ lol
We completely disassembling the heater unit, made some fiber glass for repairs, sand down the inner flap then painted them and finally paint the heater box. We started body work and we are doing some great progress. The front end frame is done, the front end nose is also done, the passenger door is done too, now it just needs some cuts and welds. Tonight we are going to start the left door etc.
Here are some pics and more will come tonight or tomorrow :)
Hope you'll enjoy it

The rear quarters are not sand because they are going to be cut out, so we could have done some savings on the blast sanding. :)

I guess they don't mind. Of course we have to be careful about the noise that we are making but we stop every night around 7-7.30 pm cause its cold out there! lol otherwise we do have to stop making noise at 10 pm. That is the principal rule.
But our neighbors are pretty cool they never came by and tell us to stop. It is our third restoration project and never been stopped by neigbors complaining. So it's cool :)

And normally we can't paint anywhere but you know when you have to ^^ we should use a cabin etc but we'll do that only for the body paint! :)

Actually I'm the youngest brother so we did it with my big brother and our father it's kinda like a family sickness lol
It wasn't Mopar ones (our bad sorry ^^) but great cars though, the first one is a 1968 Fastback Mustang GT 390ci 4-speed, and the second one the paint is the last job we have to do for it, it is a 1973 Ford Ranchero 400ci C6 automatic tranny 3-speed on column
