Well the neighbour's were true to their word, saying they would pay and put right any damage to my property during the recent building work.Check out my new driveway, done today, excellent job with the added bonus being 1.5 inches wider than the old one.I'm well pleased

That does look good Steve! don't let that extra 1 1/2" go to your head when backing out of there with your 'bird! That brick wall is gonna hurt if you touch that thing! :jester:

They certainly did a fine job fixing your driveway
My house, garage and shop sit on three acres, I couldn't imagine a driveway that narrow
Or even living that close to a neighbor
I need some space to operate in
Best wishes to you

Tell me about it Bob,the work started at Easter and has just finished. As for building on the property line,it's all perfectly legal.Sure you can put in a protest to the building authorities if you object to the work but I ended up with a new driveway, fence and a small width increase so I was happy.I didn't realise it would take this long though and not being able to use the car nearly all summer was a pain.Car was totally blocked in at one stage(see below).
I'm envious of the properties you guys have over there with plenty of space and huge wide driveways. With England being a small overcrowded country space is at a premium and very expensive meaning properties similar to yours are well out of my price range

I'm surprised that you're expected to deal with the inconvenience that long. I would think that everything to minimize that would be the first priority. I mean six months seems like a long time to do what they did there.

Unless you rich like Chris the oil baron, the medium size homes along the California coast are very similar to your set up.

I know what you guys are saying, but I'm a person if I can help somebody out I will do.The extension would have been impossible to build without me allowing them to come on my property and they are really nice people. The way I look at it,it's like an Ace card in my back pocket should I ever need to ask them for a favour

:toetap: and i was worried about squeezing my cars through a tight spot in my driveway because of where I park my motor house. Which BTW I just finished pouring my little driveway addition this week. Since I am so rich I had a gold plated cement truck bring over the cement with tiny particles of platinum laced in it so that my neighbors wont forget how filthy rich I am and since there were no gold plated cement trucks they sent one over dubai for it to be plated then two princesses from a far away land rowed it back over here in a silver plated canoe and when they arrived I payed them each a trillion dollars for a lap dance and to put their "prints" in my new cement.
