I get nervous, because of the Diamler takeover (merger of equals?) Chrysler was the lowest cost highest profit margin of the big 3,there car and truck line was considered fresh and they were a styling leader. We lost Plymouth and things went down hill slowly from there. If my memory serves me right Fiat was looking at Chrysler back in the early 90s mainly for the Jeep brand,in fact at a news conferance a high level exec was asked about the merger, not hearing the question he asked on of the other execs next to him what was the question,to which the reply was,"he asked about Fix it again Tony",Fiat wasn't amused. Then again this may be a way to keep some of the company intact, just as long as they don't do to Chrysler what Renault did to AMC in the 80s.
