I did a radial T/A 295 50R-15 on an 8" rim and rubbed like crazy, downsized to 275 60R-15 and works well.

I would listen to the members (not necessarily me) when discussing this. Believe me.

I'm running an 15x8.5 with 3.5 backspace. There is NO WAY a 275 would fit without rubbing
or worse. I can squeeze a 255/60 with this combo.

The backspace is critical for this application. I learned that quickly with my car.

. :loco: i just wanted to know if anyone put a 295 60 15 slick in a stock wheel well
I have run a 15x10 Weld Wheel on a 68 I used to own. It had 5.5 backspace and I ran a 295/50 BFG radial on it. I had to trim the lip on the quarter and then it rubbed in extreme angles but never driving down the road. A 295/60 Drag radial is much bigger tire than the 295/50 Radial t/a. I dont think it would fit with out getting the rear of the car way up.
