Looking for rear gear opinions.

I have to agree with basketcase on this one, I don't think changing out the gears will give much more than 2 to 3 miles per gallon more. To me that is not enough difference for the time and effort to change out the gears. Now if you had 3:73, 3:91, or what I have in mine right know 4:56 I probably would change them.

Someday i swear ill drive mine there, 3.91 gears and all!

I've done it 3 times! Round trip for me is about 340 miles. I fill up before I go, and can usually make it to about Dillsburg before I fill again. I keep my speed at 55 most of the way and just enjoy the drive!

I think that the difference in ratios (2:73 vs. 3:23) will not net you as much MPG as keeping your speed low. Crank up the air pressure in your tires too... at least 35 psi.

Good to know, although my round trip is almost double that at about 630 miles.

Of course.... gas in PA is a LOT cheaper then gas in CT!!!!

That's one thing I'm counting on!! :yesnod: And I have also been keeping the tire pressure around 32 or so. Thanks for all the comments guys, it gives me a lot to consider.
