Here's the background on it. Back in November I got hit in the left front and it got the control arms fender grill and bumper. Got the car back from the shop drove it home. Inspected paint and everything else and ended up going back for paint ok. Pulling into the shop and the turn signal switch goes up in smoke. Got a new switch and installed but verifying everything the light green and red wires on the new switch were getting hot so disconnected battery. The running lights work. The headlights work without new switch connected. The hazard lights work but only for the front. Any ideas where to look next? Still don't have brake or turn signals?

How’s the old ticker, I know mine would be in bad shape after that hit, what did the other guy’s vehicle look like. It sounds like you may have a pinched wire somewhere in the column maybe when bolting column to dash

That was a bad day! I got a concussion and broken heart for a while. The lady that hit me was fine. Totaled her car that day. Will verify nothing is pinched with the column again.

I would check all the wires out where the fender was hit. Might have a wired grounding out or something like that. Parking lights-head light's-turn signal. I feel your pain and hope you find it quick. So you can get back to enjoying that beautiful runner. :thumbsup2:

Well I think I found it. Disconnected it at the firewall and got the rear lights all to work. The front lights harness has some issues. Looks like there’s a few spots for the headlight harness for the left low beam. Then it is giving different ohms reading each time I check it. I’m sure that harness got beat up when it got hit. 0F06B88F-098D-4374-A32F-6E794BA1EF3F.jpeg945C803B-28CA-4126-9D6F-6F3BC253A145.jpeg

Their you go. That is what I thought worked before the fender bender so hence led me to believe something got messed up in that area. Blead over from wires touching or direct ground to metal. Hope this clears up the problem and you can get back to driving the car. Have fun. :thumbsup2:

Hi cj69RR. That would have broken my heart also. Glad you are ok. I feel your pain on wiring. I worked on mine for months. Looks like you may have located the problem. Nice car, from Big Mo.

Thanks all. Got a good buddy who’s a really good electrician and going to get his opinion but I think it’s time for a new front lights harness. That was a bad day but to all worked out. I needed new paint on the roof and trunk so it needed paint just got it early. Good thing about it that was the one fender that had issues and no one could get it perfect on top.

AZ Desert,
Wiring is over 50 years old. I don't care for Year One but they do have the best harnesses

Well got the harness on Friday so installed it Saturday and all the light issues seem to be resolved. Got it all put back together. Finished up today. Still need to get the brakes bleed to go get a test drive.
