Just waiting on a few thing to come in that have been ordered. Hope to get it into the car this next week. It has been a long time coming for sure. So then can put the trannie. in and get it all bolted up. So here are a few Pic's of the 383. Bored 20 over. Dome pistons. As close to a purple cam as we can get. Comp cam and the kit for valve springs and tap its. No roller lifter's stayed with stock. It is 9 to 8.1 on compression. Should do around 400 HP. Did put the heaver clutch in it and clutch plate. I like the progress as I am sure you do as well. I would recommend putting the heat shields around the spark plugs when using stock manifolds. The heat will bake a set of wires in no time at all.

Thanks for the info droptop. Do you suggest using those sock's they sell. That is what I was thinking. For sure. The one thing my motor guy did was put a block off valley pan on the exhaust exchange in the intake manifold. Said that would keep the carb from getting so hot. Makes sense. Thanks again for pointing out about the plug wires.

One last thing. Hope the stock starter can handle the HP. Had it rebuilt even though it did work before. So it should work like a new one. Even a new Bendix.

Got the motor in today but it was a job. Trying to get the motor mount bracket bolts to line up in the holes on the K member. That new oil pan is tight on the center link. Trying to put the transmission in tomorrow and see how every thing fit's or if that oil pain is going to be a problem

How can you measure anything against the center link when trans is not in yet? Finish bolting it together and then make assessments. You have the cart in front of the horse. Geez.

The center link is going to be close when done. To be interesting in order to get more oil capacity there used to be an oil pan with a hole in it for center link to pass through

No problem you appear to have the correct pan. Just dont expect to stab the trans into it with the shifter box on, it will interfer with the crossmember.
And the thermostat housing is going to leak soon, all the chrome ones do LOL

Oh boy 69hemibeep. Did rough up the chrome on the water neck before putting it on. Motor guy said the same thing and put some sealer on the casket. Maybe it wont leak he said if you don't do that. Always something else to tend to for sure. Thanks buddy.

Thin coat of thread sealer on the gasket that permatex make's. Will see how it goes. May have to order a different water neck. The motor guy suggested it to me.
