Please help - I recently pulled the instrument cluster out of my '71 road runner (tac broken) and found that I was missing 5 out of 6 sheet metal screws. Anyone know where I can buy OEM instrument cluster fastener screws?

P.S It was tricky to figure out how to detach the heater control unit, I finally took the front seat out so I could get a better angle at it! Also the (manual) steering column did not drop when I removed the 2 nuts (the 3rd bolt was not there) I had to remove the plate at the firewall to get it to drop... And the 2 breakaway plastic washers were disintegrated (bought 3 on ebay for $35)

AMK Fasteners provides most of the OE correct hardware to the restoration vendors and shops. It can be quite expensive for some of the pieces, but they have stuff that others do not carry. RT Specialties as mentioned is good for clips and some other specialty hardware, but you will have to take your time as Tom is pretty much a one man show.

If you could post a picture of the needed screw, it might help us identify or suggest a replacement.

Looking at the pictures, your basically going to be searching for phillips pan head tapping screw. Most that you will find will be in a chrome plated, bright zinc or stainless finish. Finding one with a black phospate finish will be much tougher. You might have to resort to dusting one of the "bright" finishes with a coat a satin black coat of paint.

Not exactly sure of the size, possibly a #10 x 1 inch, Auveco offers a black oxide screw under part number 11923 in a quantity of 50. It will be much cheaper to purchase a box through your auto parts store than it would be to purchase from a restoration vendor. Most auto paint supply stores carry the Auveco brand, so check that route.
