It would be nice if it were that simple but the sad fact is that the market drives what the carmakers make and in the market today 4 door cars are more popular than 2 door cars. It's weird but true. Marketing surveys indicate that people want the ease of use of a 4-door. That's why the Charger was produced as a 4-door sedan. I agree that a 2 door model would be cool but it wouldn't be as roomy and practical. 2 door cars are a dwindling segment of the market anymore and the carmakers are going to go to where the $$$ is. I'm just glad to see that a manual transmission is still offered. A number of years back the feeling was that manual transmissions were going to go the way of the dinosaur because automatics are easier to tune for emissions and the driving public doesn't really want to think about driving - they just want to get in the car and go. I'm glad that prophecy hasn't come to pass yet!

4 door cars are more popular because that is all they offer. 2 door cars have more room in the front seat area (where it matters) and they are easier to get in and out of because the door opening is longer. Look at the Neon. The first generation offered a 2 door model, and they out sold the 4 door. These small commuter cars hardly ever have more than 2 people in them any way. :cents:

We can't all bitch about what goes on in this country and then just turn around and blindly propogate it like it's someone else's job to fix it... Rant over...enjoy your Fix It Again Tonys... :D
