This was my Free Bird. I traded a buddy a 383/727 I got out of a '67 Charger another buddy gave me. It was a T7 383 4 speed car. About the only good thing on it was the new quarter skins. If it was there, it was junk, and a lot was missing. From years of parting cars, I had most of the missing smalls, and the rebuilt 440 4 speed from a '68 Charger I had sold. I had a lot of fun in the swap meet at The Nats, searching the classifieds hunting down the parts, plus some horse trading. It was a blast to drive, and I was able to do most of the work myself. This is the day we pulled it out of my buddy's garage and were getting ready to take it home....and yours can't be any rougher this this was!
After 5 years I got it to this point....
And then at 3 am one of our neighbors woke us up yelling "your garage is on fire' Thank God for detached garages....
But this disaster got me my present car, much better over all. My point of these pics are...don't be afraid of scratches, chips, dirt, making these cars too nice to drive. They don't have to be show cars. Get them out and have fun with them!
