Hey would like to introduce myself and give you a little back ground on how I've always wanted a roadrunner. Well to make a long story short. My dad owned one a long time ago as his first car. He'd always tell me story's and show me pictures of the car while I was growing up and it got me hooked. I've dreamed of owning one for as long as I can remember and yesterday I finally bought one.
Heres a picture of my dads roadrunner back in the 70's.

He owned it up until the late 70's when he sold it to a guy who about a week later wrapped it around a telephone pole.
Heres mine I just picked up yesterday

As far as rust is concerned its not that bad. Roof is all intact, floors are all intact and in good shape. Has some rear quarter panel rust and the dutchman panel will have to be replaced along with the trunk floor. But that's about it.
Its a true R23 Roadrunner

Has a 8 3/4 Rearend with a sure grip ....
and today the guy I bought it from gave me the info of the guy he got it from . Got some information. Car hasn't been on the road since 1983 due to a front end crash. It had resided in Torrance CA most of its life (My birth town ). Also where my dad lived and owned his roadrunner. My dads was sold in the late 70's and after it was sold got wrapped around a telephone pole.. Some weird connections going on here. We where meant to be <3

Took a wire wheel to the floors today in the surface rusted spots and all looks good. No holes except for a small one where it looks like the driveshaft broke and came up and hit the floor or something :lmao:. But god those seats where a bitch to get out. But its pretty crazy pulling out stuff that's been there since the 70's. Found a bunch of 1970's penny's under the seats to. Now just gotta get rid of that satellite hood.

Are these original seats? Cause I planned on getting the frames blasted/powdercoated then buying new foams and covers for the car.

Had a feeling they weren't. They fit perfect with the factory holes though so its alright I guess. My goal is actually to make a replica of my dads roadrunner Minus the post in the door. I always loved the sunfire yellow (Think its called sunfire?). With a saddle/brown interior. I dig the green but I've been dreaming of a sunfire yellow runner since I was in elementary haha. Just had an old friend tell me over facebook "finally !!! since 3rd grade u said u wanted it".

And in the picture of the floorboard. That's brown carpet by the gas peddle. Not a huge cancer hole

Nice project. Buckets look like GM units. I saw the hump on the tunnel...putting a four-speed back in it...I hope... :D
