I don't have much to tell anyone about me - I just have a story!!
I guess I am still in mourning! My '69 Road Runner was stolen way back years ago! Come to find out - the person who stole it was the gentleman that went with me to report it stolen. Unfortunately he is deceased now.
I recently have been made aware that the DMV does not have the vehicle flagged as "stolen" In their system. LOCAL police claim there is no report on record and they dispose after so long they dispose of documents. As the type I had requested. DMV suggested the State Police. No espouse as of yet.
So here I am - in hopes that I might find some reference to its whereabouts or who the owner might be. (maybe we'd be able to work something out) After all someone does have it and it is somewhere
I apologize for my introduction to be what it is and hopefully yous won't reject my registration.

Welcome, now that is a different intro. How did you find out who stole the car, and I take it he is deceased but not by your hand unless you have computer use in the Washington state prison system.

Each state is different but, here in Texas after several years stolen vehicles are flushed from the system, but the State Police still have records that are backed up on a different server, it does take a while, for them to research but the original entry should be still be on file. If you were to run a check on the operating system now it would not show stolen. I would think your state would be the same. Good Luck...

I've been fairly successful through my Lost Muscle Cars facebook page in reuniting owners with their old cars or finding history on them. PM me some info and I will post it on there for you.

Welcome aboard! That's a tear jerker. I'm surprised that the LEADS computer doesn't have it listed by VIN. As far as I know once entered into a government database it's there forever.

Welcome. Oh boy this story gets deeper. I am a water well contractor and a friend of mine had a 100.000 thou. rig stole from his shop several year's ago. Now here is the story things can be shipped out of the states to another country and nothing is checked buy customs. Some country's only require a bill of sale to claim owner ship. Also their was a ring stealing Harleys during bike week taking them to the port to a German ship and loading the bikes the police caught them loading the bikes onboard. Heard it took awhile for the people to get them back but they got them. If it went over seas chance you wont see it again. You might as well look into buying another one. Sorry for your loss. :sorrow:

Yes I probably should but I think about it everyday! It taking up a lot of brainspace - more than ever before! I think I'll just try and keep going and put a bit more focus on it. After all, the worst that can happen is more disappointment! Thank you though
