Retired now. Parents purchased a new (special order) 1971 Road Runner when I was 16 years old. The salesman first tried to sell us a leftover model 1970 Road Runner. It was yellow with a tall wing on the deck lid but we wanted the newer model and refused his suggestion to purchase the Superbird. This was at the Plymouth dealer in San Jose, California. So I took my first DMV driving test in the 1971 Road Runner, bahama yellow with air grabber. Then, driving the RR for first time at Fremont Raceway as a teen, with some beginner's luck I won a trophy in the amateur drag racing bracket class (RR ran low 15 second E.T's). When I graduated from high school, worked in a Chevron service station and purchased a four-door 1965 Plymouth Valiant for $125.00. Put a four-speed in it and began to bracket race it once or twice a week. Parents sold the Road Runner to a friend of mine for $2000. Funny thing is (believe it or not), no one in the family ever took a photograph of our Road Runner! Weird. Sold the Valiant in 1980 to the Renteria Bros. of Morgan Hill, who raced in for 20 more years before it was sold again. It probably became the quickest four-door Valiant in the world, after they had spent a couple of million dollars on it during their two decades of drag racing it. The Renteria Bros. now have a fiberglass body four door Valiant that you can find on Bang-Shift video on youtube. Well, I consider myself the "grandfather' of that car, since I feel "responsible" for getting them started with the Valiant sedans. Finally just late last year, I purchased a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus to restore and kinda relive my youth, I guess you could say. I had been looking for a B Body car (off and on) for the last 10 years. Car nuts and animal lovers are good people, aren't they (us)?

AZ Desert,
Welcome aboard and I never took pictures of my cars back in the day, I don't really know why.
