Not a MOPAR issue, but helping a good friend with his ride. Anyone familiar with the YH carter carborator for the turbo corvair? Starts and idles, everything is new from engine rebuild. Converted to igniter electronic ignition. Verified timing at factory specks 24 degrees for the turbo motor. Here is the issue, has no power will only go up to about 1000 rpm at full throttle and that is with no load on the motor. We have the YH carb book and verified everything per it. The idle screw on the base plate they say if ran all the way in and it doesn't kill the motor it's an accelerator pump? Took it all back apart and no issues there either? Verified float setting also. So nothing has changed no matter what. Crazy thing is this carb seems to work opposite of anything I've ever worked with. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, been there and posted also. My buddies is the top post right now. Looks like we need to hook up a vacuum gauge and further trouble shoot.

Found the issue with the throttle not returning all the way. The new boot for the throttle linkage to the fire wall was binding it up. Ran it with the vacuum gauge and looks like we have a leak? Any tricks to install new rubber hose on a turbo? Hose will be new and acts like it doesn't want to fit at all?

Fuel pressure checks good as per the manual for this setup. Still trying to resolve its issues.

Update, got a chance to work on it for about an hour today. Got the turbo moved over a little and helped it line up with the intake. Installed a new turbo hose. Seemed to help it out. Verified time was correct and that the advance was work in the distributor and it was. Then ran out of gas! So pushed it back in the corner of the garage until next time. Good news is it did have throttle response and got it up to about 3000 rpms and the boost comes on quick. Still can't get the idle to the right rpms and it's a little slow to come up on power still.
