Technically, I gave my 70' Road Runner to my oldest Son & the other (2ND) 70's Charger to my youngest Son but they are still in my possession. I am not in this hobby for the money. I am in this hobby for the love of cars. Hopefully, to pass on the torch to my Son's now that they are getting older. I was able to score a bunch of parts from a very nice gentleman that had leftover from finishing his car & gave me everything as pictured since it was for my Son for $100.00. This is why I get excited for this hobby. Not everyone is out there to try to make a killing on parts or a car. Nice to know deals are still out there. Even got a fender tag for an old 70' Satellite/Belvedere also in the package deal.

That's awesome
there' still some great people out there
I enjoy the hunt for parts
I enjoy spending the time looking
everyday even if I'm not working on something
I'm looking "just in case something strikes my fancy"
I don't enjoy prices some people think
'their rusty worn out old usually rusty parts are worth'
then won't pay shit for parts you're selling
But it is what it is, if I can't fix what I have
or need it
you gotta' do what you gotta' do
it ain't 1970's anymore, where parts were abundant...
Especially for these cars, they were dirt cheap
we could buy whole cars for $500 (sometimes less) to $1500
all day long
I was also making 1/10th to 1/20th the amount of $$$ then too
my 1st job (not working for my fathers cons. co.) was $1.65 an/hr
& I loved it just as much back then
I'm more of a day 2 guy or a racers on the street vibes now
done the OE restorations stuff too, just not into it anymore..
I have some sort of racecar or project car, muscle car
since I was 15 y/o, I'm on #115 car/truck I'm 59
I just find it more fun, prefer day 2 builds
it seemingly keeps my interest longer
to build what I want, my style/taste & damn the rest....
Most of these cars are so far from OE, when you find them
more often than not, that's the case
once you replace an org. panel or parts of any type,
or a bunch of bolt on parts
(that can be removed easily if someone wants to go back to OE)
it's not an OE anymore anyway,
it's just an assemblage of different parts, it's not original anymore
well that's my justification anyway
Now if it's a Hemi or 6BBL car or some really rare 1 off
then I'd think twice about not doing a 100% OE with
expensive NOS or Org. used parts
different strokes for different folk
there still are stashes out there
some of the guys who 'were the shit/man' back in the day
are getting old or getting out, cashing out or kids inherited it etc.
it's just seems like it's getting harder to find them guys & parts
I'm thankful for all the re-pop & great aftermarket parts/stuff we have today
far better than it was 10 years ago even, especially in the performance realm...
Leaps & bounds better than 20+ years ago for MoPar parts
The hobby has come leaps & bounds since we were only able to be
cruising junkyards or swap meats for parts (rare they had MoPar parts either)
or trying to find almost nonexistent NOS parts...
(I still do all the above sometimes)
The Internet, the information at a click & some of these types of forums
helps tremendously too...
WE are living in a great era, make the best of it...
enjoy it while you can
@6PKRTSE
doing them with your sons is priceless
spending quality time, doing something you love
is even more priceless
good luck, enjoy the hunt
