As the subject title implies, here are some pics of the havoc that I have recently wreaked upon my toys...

These pics are of the damage sustained when the TV launched itself off of the wall and into the quarter panel of the 'bu when I slammed the door on the garage... OUCH!

Back to the body shop...more $$$...oh joy, oh rapture...

And here are Bambi's battle scars from the last "Oh sh*t, throttle stuck wide open again, what is that smell...???" blast down the road... Driver's side muffler completely grenaded...passenger side just has a "unique" shape to it now... :D

Took the muffler off last night...and created another nightmare in the process. Used an air chisel to split the pipes after I used a sawzall to cut the muffler out. The vibration from the air chisel knocked loose whatever tiny pieces of rust were holding the gas tank together and the next thing you know I have horseshoe falls dropping gasoline on the garage floor... Plugged up three different holes with soap (you old-timers know about this trick  ) and I'll drain the tank today. Now I gotta go searching for a new tank...and she'll be out of commission at least another week. Yea!

THAT REALLY SUCKS....insurance will take care of the body work....home owners??

I don't have any collector car insurance on the 'bu yet, George. And it is so difficult to keep homeowner's insurance down here with the hurricanes and such, I don't want to jeopardize my homeowner's situation over a lousy quarter panel. This one is coming out of my pocket I'm afraid...

Well at least the damage on the Malibu stayed below the top body line crease. Hopefully they can repair it by blending without having to paint the whole sailpanel, roof, etc. Just trying to look at the positives here if there are any..

That looks to be a 19" diagonal dent, probably a Panasonic, its a shame that happened. That muffler looks like it was getting thin anyway.

I was thinking the same thing, Jim. I was very upset when this happened...as I surveyed the damage again on Saturday I kept thinking "well, it could have been a lot worse..." My painter is supposed to stop by in a few days...guess I'll find out how upset I really am at that point... :D

BTW: Tried the TV on Saturday...it no workie no more... I'm guessing RCA doesn't warranty 10 foot falls either...

25" RCA...lots of plastic on the exterior of that baby...that is probably what tripped you up, Bob... :D

I'd say you were right on the muffler...notice that they were not a matched set either... I got a complete new exhaust system with the car...but I'm saving it for the resto. Went down and dropped $23 at Advance Auto Parts for some Walker cheapie to tide me over...

the 'bu hurts just to look at it. that sucks Ray, but on the positive......
1).at least the car wasn't all back together
2) 10 pounds of Bondo didn't fall out
3)it was ONLY a
Blue car....... :acme:
and before we got the lifters changed and the timing straighten out on mine, I had quite a few loud bangs that reshaped both of my mine.

Dave:

1) I would have to agree...should make it easier to fix...
2) There had better not be 10 lbs. of bondo on there...she got new quarters on both sides...
3) As the old Sheriff in the MoPar commercials would say..."You're in a heap of trouble, boy..." :D

Put the new muffler on Bambilicious this afternoon. Drained and dropped the tank. Somebody had already replaced the pick-up assembly; fairly new-looking filter sock and float - and it was a 3/8" set-up. I may now have some idea as to why the gas gauge isn't working...no ground strap... Ordered a new tank and grommet this afternoon. Who has a line on reasonably priced ground straps?

Wow... You just reminded me of the TV an old friend had in his shop. It was in a mobile home fire. The outside was all melted and it looked like he pulled it out of the trash (which he probably did) but it worked great.

Good memory of a friend I lost many years ago.

I was thinking the same thing Bob. That hole could be mistaken for a big rust hole! And the other muffler looks more like it either imploded, or got twisted somehow! And the 'bu does hurt to look at 'cause it reminds me of when I had something fall on the side of the Barracuda not long after it was painted. It got a scratch about 5" long and was down to the metal, And ironically was in the same area as your car Ray!

Ouch! That dent may be taken out by a good paintless dent guy. I dunno I would consider it if the scratches arent too deep. I was at a show on Labor Day and my neighbors canopy blew over onto my Chevelle denting the C pillar. 1300 later it has a good blend job. Some people say blends always show up later. I can attest to this as my 68 Camaro has the rear half blended after a lafted truck smushed the rear so bad that the taillights pointed straight up! Well it was fixed 15 years ago and if you look at it just right I can see it.

I like the custom exhaust for Bambi! I bet you can customize your new mufflers by driving down the road. Trans in gear and shut off the ignition. Pump the throttle a few times, then turn the ignition on! Dont ask how I know this!

As a side note I have not taken a pic of the Camaro since I bought this computer which was was in 2006! Talk about no love!

I kind of like the dent, a battle scar or two is okay, flatten the paint a little so it's not so shiney and drive it everywhere!

No paintless dent removal for the 'bu, Chris; the paint is cracked...

Gonna have to fix it Rich; I'm selling this car (I hope)...

And related to my current repairs on Bambi, here is a MoPar Parts Update for you guys. Still available from Ma MoPar as of today:

P/N 2258862 - Fuel tank sending unit ground strap. $12.80 each at your Dodge dealer...

P/N 3404182 - Fuel tank filler tube grommet - supersedes P/N 2880481. $9.10 each at your Dodge dealer...

I ordered a pair of each...even though I had already bought a grommet ($14.00 + free shipping on e-bag) for Bambi. The grommets interchange on the A-Bodies too so why not have a couple on the shelf...
