Know the feeling buddy. Been looking at another project car. But can I really do another one. Just bending over the grill and working on the motor is getting tougher every year. Hang in there and you will get it done.

Ya, I still have my `73 400, four speed car I`d love to do but I think the `70 is my last major resto project so the `73 is for sale. I`d have a shop do the major work but I can`t afford that, hell I can barely afford to build these cars when I do ALL the labor myself!

Last big piece of sheet metal arrived, I'll start cutting out the old floor once I have the quarters welded on.

Quarter panel welding has begun! I'm still not 100% happy with the fit but I decided to just start welding and fit as I go. Trunk and door gaps are good, C-pillar is decent, problem areas are lower window channel and fit of end cap but I'll get them worked in. Once the drivers side is tacked all around I have one more fitting of the passenger and a little prep and I'll get that side tacked in.

Your work looks good. I so want to get back at the assembly on mine. Have the other project in front of it and am making good progress on that. Think I’ll be done right as summer hits but then can’t touch mine much because of the desert heat.

Is that the same roof skin. I still don' know where the problem came in on mine. Have since talked to a guy who said he cuts off the window channel then resets them for the back window gap. I did replace the roof with a new one and the quarters also. Good luck your getting it done. :thumbsup2:

Factory doors and roof skin are still on it so it`s definitely the quarters that are off, the main issues seem to be a little extra length and the C-pillar/rear window channel. I am not super happy with the fit but at least we have these parts available, when I did my Barracuda I could only get two piece trunk floor and quarter skins.

Trying to fit the end cap but ended up having to pie cut along the top edge as there seemed to be too much material there, I wasn't thrilled about cutting it but it was the only way to make it right. I am happy with the lines and once it's all welded and metal finished it will be better than factory. Now on to the next area.

After market sheet metal is a challenge for sure. Looks like you have it all well in hand. Some of my parts were either too long or short. Makes a challenge for fitment. Things are looking good keep up the work brother.

A little more done getting lines, you can see my expensive panel gap gage (a chunk of metal), shooting for 3/16". Door gap is done but I I have a little more work to do at the trunk lid/quarter/dutchman panel intersection.

Passenger quarter is close enough to start welding. The trunk gap is really good but the door gap and rear window/sail panel area need some "finessing". Clamp, hammer, weld, repeat.

Not much progress that shows in pics but I have been working on it. Clamps are hung back on the wall and I'm finally done with welding on quarters! After I get some epoxy on them I am going to start fixing the mess some previous owner made of the floor pan.

I know you are getting to the end now on the body work. What a journey it can be. It may be time to step back and have a cold one and admire your work. LOL. Nice job and keep us informed as you get more done. Russ.

Finally found a decent rear bumper as mine was pretty bent up. I bolted it up so I could check the tail panel and lower quarter lines and I am pretty happy with them so mud work can continue and eventually primer some day.

Been slacking with updates but I have been getting some work done between home projects, camping, Chryslers at Carlisle etc. Quarters are almost done, hopefully fully primed soon.
