Has anyone put a set of these heads on a 383. Directions state after installation fire up the motor and bring to running temp then let it cool down and retorque the heads. This is a bummer, but I guess it is what it is. More work . If you have these heads, how do they work for you. Thanks Russ.

I installed a pair on one of my buddies mild build 400/451 stroker. After cam break in and several heat cycles we re-torqued them. He now has thousands of miles and several years on them with no issues.

Thanks for the reply. I know it was relay hard to get those 906 heads off. But the new aluminum ones where a lot better to handle weight wise. I will try to keep everyone up to date on how they work for me. :thumbsup2:

Of course I probably should have added that we went through them entirely before just bolting them on. Never trust anything right out of the box.

I've got two sets, one set I have replaced the springs, retainers, locks and seals for the 512 stroker I'm building for the Roadrunner. The other set is for the 440 that is going in the Sport Fury. I haven't run either engine yet but I have read good things about their heads.

I installed a set from 440 Source right out of the box on my 440, their version of a 509 purple shaft, and their lifters, and pushrods. I used the stock stamped steel rockers and Fel-Pro head gaskets and everything is fine for more than a year now. Runs strong. I'm satisfied.

Thanks for the input. Seems like they are doing a good job for me. Just having to get the right jet combo for the Holley Brawler and get the motor dialed in.
