Hello all got my first ride in the roadrunner. What a blast. I've got a couple tweaks here and there but all and all very good first run. Rear gears are way too low. Going to change to 3:54. Any thoughts. Getting pasted by soccer moms on the highway tach showing 4000 going maybe 55 mph. Going to oe of the local cruise nights tomorrow then off to Maine for a week of landlocked salmon and lake Togue fishing. It's been a long time coming. Ok soon. Have fun out there. Roofman.

Nice. I'm running 4.30s so you don't want my opinion. :D
Where in Maine do you go? I've been up to Moosehead lake many times.

I run 3:54's in both my RR and R/T and I like them
They give me a little more than the 3:23's that came with my cars
I tried 4:11's but didn't like the red line feeling and of coarse the fuel consumption
I guess it's what you want the car to perform at.
Do you happen to know Paul and Marie Laney, from Grand Lake Stream?

My first ride in a Road Runner was just around the block going no faster than 35 mph. It was in one of the local guy's '69 convert. Still though, it was pretty cool. I had had mine for a couple of years and hadn't driven it yet, so I remember it pretty well.

My car came with 3.91's in the rear. I've been pretty happy with them so far.

3.23s are good all around gears. I had 3.55s in my last car, and it cruised at 70 (Dobie you didn't see that) very happily. I had 3.91s, and it was tached out at 60, fun starting out though!

I'f got 3.23 in mine. Love those passing moms/milfs.
Over and over again.
But maybe the hemi helps living with the 3.23.

I was able to drive my RR with blown input shaft, grinding gears and shot motor off the trailer into my garage and that was it. First running restored Road Runner I got to ride in was Steves (Roadcuda) at a show here in CT! Beautiful car

I remember that Collin! Ya gotta come back up there sometime! My car also came with 3:91s and since I wanted a good cruisin' car without the motor screaming on the highway I got some 3:23s and sold the 3:91s. The car has enough giddy up for me! :drive:

I have the 3.54 in mine and am thinking of going to 3.23s. I drive mine not race it.

Have 4:56 in mine (crazy right) that was what the previous owner put in. I'm looking to change them out to 3:91's.

I will say that at times the 3.91's are a bit much, driving 30 or so miles one way. At 60 mph I'm running around 3k and it gets to be a bit loud after awhile.

Well, make sure you guys give me first right of refusal when you sell your 411"s or lower gears. I plan on just cruising mine, but I want to be able to eat my share of fords and chevies (for my latin friends) if the situation arises!

Dutch,

I've got 3.23's in my hemi and it has plenty of grunt at low speed. What I don't have is gas mileage. I only turn about 2400 at 55 mph and still only get about 100 miles out of a tank of gas. Of course gas mileage was never a consideration in my choice of engine. :D :D

I have been thinking about going with 3.73's in my runner. I have that in my Mustang and it feels really good on the street.
