From the original post - "The vin number also matches on the core support, and the trunk drivers quarter."

Gentlemen,
The RM21 hardtop puzzle has been solved. This hardtop is a Roadrunner clone. The Spanish gold paint first discovered on the package tray matched paint behind the bumper and on the floor pan. I pulled back the trunk seal and found the donor vin. I still feel I have a good car but realize if I sell it I will have to reveal this information.

Not technically a clone as that would be a Satellite with it`s original vin numbers made to look like a road runner, your car now looks to be a car that was rear clipped or a full re-body. If it were mine I would be sanding down the radiator support to see if that vin was welded in or maybe look underneath to check for signs of the car being clipped in the rear. Also check under the dash or behind the kick panels for paint to see if it`s gold or green. As you said it`s not a big issue now but could be a legal one when you try and sell it.

AZ Desert,
Your original post says the core support and drivers side trunk quarter match the vin

I was wrong. I wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. I was trying to read the numbers from inside the trunk. When I pulled back the trunk seal I scraped the glue and discovered the E9 xxxxxx
Vin number.

Same happened to me. Mine was a original RM car but after looking like you did it is a RH car. Somehow the previous owner had put a different fender tag on the car. I bought as a Roadrunner without checking to know what it really is. I love it anyway and don't plan on selling but if I did I would have to let the buyer know. Oh well title is wrong for the car. Like said by others it could have been a pieced together car.

Russ,
Just had the car out today. Nothing like a driver quality car. Thanks for sharing your experience.
