Update: A quick call to PST this morning. They claim they have has this problem with a few idler arms for B-Bodies. They are sending out a new part (from a different supplier) along with a call tag to send the original back.
No hassle, great service from them!
Looking closer at the idler arm it looks like the tapered shaft may not be sticking out far enough. It looks like there is a shoulder to butt the center link against, but it is below the surface of the arm forging. A call to PST on Monday is in order to see how to remedy this.
Hi All, I got a front end rebuild kit from PST and have run into my first snag. The item pictured is the idler arm and center link.
Fist question: Does the foam washer shown stay there? Or is this just packing material to keep grease in/dust out while storing transporting?
Second...
I'm a ways away from needing "The Big Motor" for my Roadrunner project, but I've been knocking this question around. The original 383 has been in pieces for a couple decades and will need a boatload of machining, (bore, crank cut, deck heads and block, line bore, etc.) so my immediate plan is to...
Some of the parts that I have an immediate need for are the 4 big bolts that hold the K-Member to the front frame rails on my 69 Roadrunner (can't seem to find them in the pile of parts that are to be my "complete" Roadrunner in boxes). Are these available aftermarket? Or does someone have a set...
Not really a "Got Away" story, but more of a "Where is it now?"
I went to Waukesha North High School here in SE Wisconsin, graduated in1985. For the entire time I went to that school, in my high school auto shop, there was a rolling chassis/body with motor, B5 Blue, 69 Hemi Roadrunner. The...
That's the issue, I don't have the vin tag yet. Current owner that is painting the car has the car. He sent me the picture above. It could be an "RM" on the fender tag. The pic is so blurry it's hard to tell. I'll give him a call tomorrow.
Thanks for putting up with me guys!
Sorry to keep beating this horse, but can an "RU23" be a Roadrunner? All of the fender tag decoders say this is a Satellite/Belvedere. Most of the Roadrunner Hardtops have an "RM23" code. This IS a really base (Low) option car, no options other than the chrome drip rail moldings. And to my...
How about the ones we never got? I was 16, summer of 1984 (just before the insanity of the muscle car craze started up again. For years we drove past this house that had a Superbird parked next to it. It was now parked closer to the road, For Sale sign in the window. One headlight door open...
The car has 2 tone (saddle/bronze) bench seats/door panels. The tag does read T5 T5 H2T T7. Does this mean T5 Whole exterior. T7 interior doors (above and below door panels)/under rear side windows, trim around the headliner, etc.? Or does the H2T T7 mean the painted parts are T5 and the soft...
Well, a hot humid weekend of shooting is done. I ended up finishing 4th in my class (F-Open, Master) and 13th overall for the state F-Open shooters. Had a great time, learned a lot, shot with some great people. Competitive shooting is one of the most fun things I've ever done outside of NHRA...
Thanks Mahoney, That confirms that the car has all original equipment. I was told the car was a no hood stripe/no side stripe. Plain Jane as it gets.
You said "T7 is the gut I think". This is probably a rookie question here, but what is "the gut"? Is "T7" the color of said gut? LOL, Thanks again.
Entirely possible that the car did not have them "installed" from the factory but came in the glove box for the owner to install.
Just read an article/interview about the origination of the Roadrunner in the August 2014 MoPar Muscle magazine. The interview was with the original Program Manager...
Hi guys, sorry for the bad pic, but it's all I have at the moment. This is also the most sparse fender tag I've ever seen! Could you guys work your magic and tell me what it means?
