Well the carb is not stock and the internals of the distributor are technically not stock. When I through the light on it of course without plug on the vacuum line the timing mark was way on the plus side of the timing plate btdc. But when I plugged the vacuum line it came back closer. Someone...
I’ll have to move it to the upper and then check it. Is there more or less vacuum based on those 2 positions?
The car runs well, just thinking with some timing tweaking it could be better.
I was just surprised to see the timing mark as far away from the timing plate.
I can also just leave it...
The motor starts good other than the usual throat clearing. Went looking for my timing light and wanted to see where it was at. The shop put in a electronic setup in the distributor and a better coil.
I checked it with the light all warmed up and idling(forgot to pull the vacuum hose and...
What is the best way to mount the factory headrests on factory split bench seats? The existing seats do not have any headrests or signs of any past ones.
I’ve seen them at Classic Ind. but there has to be more to mounting them than meets the eye. Any ideas please!!
Well the leak has returned after 50 miles. Can’t say it is the rear main, but when I inspect the pan bolts around the rear of the pan near the inspection cover they seemed quite loose and there was not any signs of rtv pushed outward in any of the gasket layers.
Pics might tell one of the experts...
Kind of a jab,but no big deal! Got all my front end parts in and it does feel better.
The whole electrical thing with the ammeter bypass and getting the original gauges to all work, water temp, ammeter…I have a new one just procrastinating on pulling the cluster and making sure all is well.
Just...
I was kidding on the off position 2-spd. is in this bird. This guy asking about the wiper motor was no Mark Worman,i just took it as car snobby.
My problem I guess. I’m ready for more shows
Went to a small Mopar gathering at my local Chrysler/Dodge dealer yesterday and their were a nice handful of classic mopar muscle on hand. I was getting ready to back into my spot and the guy next to my other favorite mopar a 69 bee had a modern day charger and he pulled out of his spot and said...
I checked the harnesses and all look good. Those 2-wires (blk) from the top harness join up with the blue wire which connects to the starter relay and the (blk) wires run down to the switch at the trans. The switch looks new and was told works internally when trans was just serviced. Might be...
Well my shop guy jumped that connection at the transmission and got the backup lights to light. Otherwise they do not light…another story for another time. Old cars Old problems!!
The pitman arm seems to be missing a dust/grease boot and I’m sure the existing arm never had it or the shop pickle forked it out and there was no replacement. Anyway can the alignment get set while compensating with the front torsion bar adjustment screws so the left side doesn’t look low and...
Hey guys does anyone know what the two wires(red) that seem to be paired together that look that they may have been added at some point or maybe factory.?
At this time I’m leaving it as is for now. If I should have an extra 2k laying around I would go with the Dakota digital dash, but until that happens I’ll just keep an eye on this beauty!
Here are some pics of both fuse links (green) from the alternator and the dark blue was on the car when I got it.
The blue fuse link as you can see attached to the center harness and the green attached from the black wire from the alternator. The harnesses do not show signs of heat or melting...
