69 only has one location for the shifter. 70 and up has 2 locations for the shifter to mount to. This change was made for E bodies.

Replace your PCV. It could be bad not letting the crankcase breath correctly and adding pressure to the crankcase causing leaks. I always try cheap and easy first.

I like the progress as I am sure you do as well. I would recommend putting the heat shields around the spark plugs when using stock manifolds. The heat will bake a set of wires in no time at all.
Each of the 13 years they were made have their own unique features. I like them all but, like you, I am partial to my first Road Runner and that was a 69.
