I've got 2 different plastic grills on the rear speakers. Installed with different screws (naturally). Were there any plastic grills originally or are there just slots for the sound to come through?

Dave's suggestion worked great. Looks like the nuts may be ok, but the stud screws are a bit stripped. I rather the nuts were stripped, but there you have it.

Yeah, they are all loose. I can probably remove them by cutting off with a Dremel maybe so not to destroythe screws underneath. And get new nuts. Course the screws could be stripped not the nuts so time will tell.
Well, that's good because I got a project here. Actually, car is in pretty remarkable shape. Here is a question, don't know if you have a console, but here is pic of underside of console door. It has these funky bolt cap things that won't tighten or loosen. The door is totally out of alignment...

Have a 1970 with console. The circle lights on either side work, but the plastic has yellowed, I'm thinking it was white when new. Two screws remove the assembly, but does anyone know how to pull away the light socket? I'm guessing you just give it a hard pull but thought I'd ask. Second, anyone...
