Ok I got a WHOLE new orange box ignition system. First I put in the Distributor and ballast. Ran great for a couple days but died again. Patched in the new orange box and it started. Reconnected the old box and nothing. I think I finally got it. The damn box, I hope. If it craps out again.

Yes, the silver one is the VR but below that under the ground strap. You can just see the top of it. It goes between the ballast, VR, 12V from the starter relay and ground.

Well it did it again. Died right in my back yard this time. Hooked up an extra plug wire with a plug and no spark. Only does it when it is hot. This time I ground off the orange coating on one side of the box and used a braided ground strap. Drove it for about 30 min and no problem. Stopped and...
