I am wanting to know the correct part number for the air cleaner base for a ‘70 440+6 WITH fresh air? I have a non-fresh air base now and will cut the shield off. The air cleaner top has a part number (#2946393) and I believe that to be correct.
Did the fresh air base ever get stamped with the...
Thanks for the link. The hole pattern looks exactly like the original in one of the pictures. The first picture shows 3-1/2 rows like a repop, and the last picture shows 4 rows with one row split top and bottom as the original. I wonder which picture is more representative?
Perfect and thanks for the picture. Yes, the right is what is available. I need a driver filter anyway and 99% of the people can't tell the difference. I will try to hunt down a NOS one and see what they cost. I looked and the "limited run" black one, and does indeed have another row of holes...
Thanks guys! Year one has made a "limited run" of air filters with round holes but the rubber is black and is $30 more. I always thought orange was factory and wonder why they would make a run with the incorrect color?
What color was the top and bottom layer on the oval filters as it came from the factory - black or orange?
The orange has been around for a while but I see the black is back for a limited time. Not cheap for sure.
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. The new repros are actually more like $600+. I talked to Joe's radio, and they can convert my current crapper AM/FM radio and retain the outward appearance. Cost is around $400, but will look factory but sound better. The current radio was exposed to a lot of water, and the...
I bought them from Year One years ago, but I honestly think they were all the same. I have not looked into it for a while now and maybe it has changed. The hood won't be on for several months and can only compare the old not-correct ones to any new ones I get. I'll see if I can measure the ones...
These are the four rubber wedges that are mounted near the top of the fenders in the engine bay on either side. I believe these are to center the hood when it is shut. Problem is the aftermarket wedges seem way too narrow to be able to contact the sides of the hood. The hood has angled indents...
Hello!
I need to find an AM/FM radio for my 70RR with rallye dash. This radio has the knobs as opposed to the rollers. I have nice knobs already, just need the radio. It does not need to be restored, but please no basket cases.
Thanks,
Wallace
I need a bottom and back cushion for the rear seat on a '70 RR. I believe a '69 will fit as well. Not concerned about cover as that will be replaced. Just need a good frame. Dallas, TX
Thank you!
The grey color is actually a PPG epoxy primer blend of black and grey/green. Then we oversprayed the purple. But the secret is the clear we shot on top of that. It is a newish preflattened clear from PPG. Already has the correct gloss and no mixing in the very difficult flatttener additive. It...
Thanks for all the encouraging words! I have a friend from high school and we are doing this project. It is about journey as much as it is about the destination. I suspect, once the body is polished and ready to go, the rest won’t be so bad. I will be leaning on this site for sure getting to the...
Ask and ye shall receive. The first pic is literally day one. Yep, big project ahead! Second pic is roughly where I am today. I have a lot of wet sanding and polishing to do. Third is what the underside looks like. Tried to keep it as factory as I know how.
I have owned a ‘70 383 RR and now am working on a ‘70 440+6. It is a 4 speed and FC7 paint. I have owned it for well over 10 years and slowly doing a total resto. It didn’t have rust from road salt, but rather sitting in an open field. I have all of the body work done and it is painted. Just...
