You can buy the rivets for these splash guards which you will need if you want to install. If you want to make them look new - I cleaned mine really well and then lightly scuffed with a very fine scotch brite. Then degreased, applied an adhesion promotor (Bulldog or etc) followed by SEM satin...
Thanks! Looks like they just had a solid rivet and smashed one end. That end also flared out inside one of the arm holes and secured it also. Just an inexpensive way to do it and they never were concerned with restoration. Pretty typical with many parts on these cars. If doesn't need to come...
I decided to separate the two sections of the arms. Now I can install the one on the lid with the pin and put the triangular decal on with out cutting. The other will be installed on the shaft and be installed with the completed housing on the hood. How to rejoin the arms at the pivot point? I...
Getting ready to assembly the entire air grabber assembly and then install the box on the hood. Question is what sequence do you do this in order to install decals on the side of the lid off the car. It would be difficult to install these triangular decals if the lid is on the hood. The clevis...
I appreciate that. The way I look at, we are all in this together and trying to get our RRs running and keep them that way. Everyone needs help and parts at one time or another me included. Great to belong to this community!
I have L&R reverse light housings off of a '70 RR. They are in good original condition, work perfectly and ready to be cleaned up and used. The left housing has a new pigtail end on it as the original end was damaged. The new end was soldered together with heat shrink to seal the repair...
Quite a mystery what that does and why they installed it. Maybe for some kind of an option or for an earlier year. They would not have gone to the trouble of punching a hole in the bumper and then adding the plug for nothing.
Have you actually seen that they touch the hood when it is shut or just assume it does? I assumed and was wrong. I have the engine and subframe out and can clearly see the clearance from below when the hood is shut.
Engine bay looks great BTW.
Looking at the recent thread for turn signal bumpers made me think about the problem I had with my '70 RR hood wedge bumpers. There are (4) mounted on either side the fenders. Every one I have tried are way short of contacting the hood when it is closed. Like about 3/16" too short. If they don't...
Nice picture and thanks. I also have (2) metal tube spacers (1/2” tall) that slide on the bolts. Have any idea where they go?
The guy who did my belts painted the bolts (3) different colors and I guess that was just to ID them because they are different lengths. My guess is from the factory...
Google - Tires: Your safety and your life are riding on them - NHTSA
They have all the info you need. They recommend 6 to 10 years for replacing tires. Most tire shops will not touch tires that are 10 years or older.
